Jeff North, MD – University of California San Francisco

Interests include increasing diagnostic precision in both inflammatory and neoplastic dermatologic conditions. This includes utilizing molecular techniques such as fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) and comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) to better characterize histopathologicallyambiguous melanocytic tumors and provide better prognostic information for patients based on cancer-related changes in the tumor genome. He is also interested in immunoprofilinginflammatory skin diseases to allow for more precise diagnosis and understanding of these diseases. In addition, Dr. North enjoys teaching and mentoring students, residents and fellows rotating through our service.
